In this episode, Brian shares a heartfelt message he received from a father to his sons about “Someday” meeting a day of the week.

Someday.

“Someday” is the day on the calendar that most people consistently talk about but doesn’t actually exist. There are seven days of the week and “someday” isn’t one of them.

If something is really important to you than you need to be intentional and purposeful about including that behavior, goal or desire in your plan on the days that actually exist.

In my experience, “someday” is often connected with a very important thought or idea that often goes unexamined or unrealized because we don’t make the time or effort to intentionally see it through.

Here is a simple example. As an adult, I would often say, “Someday I am going to run a marathon”. I don’t particularly love running and I am not really sure why I wanted to do this but I said in a lot of different environments, “I will run a marathon someday”. For decades, I never really worked toward that goal. Or even had a plan. Over the past year, I ran a marathon. I stopped waiting for the right time, stop making excuses and turned “someday” into an actual day on the calendar and I did it. And it felt great.

What are the “someday” behaviors or wants you have? Put your dreams on your calendar on actual days make purposeful strides that move you closer to your dream becoming a reality.

Most people go to their grave with a coffin full of some days that never become actual days.

Introduce “someday” to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. You won’t regret it.
