603. We chat with Lenore Weiss about her novel, Pulp into Paper, which “is about the struggle of Arkansas and Louisiana mill workers to tell the truth about what is happening in their work and personal lives. The book mirrors the choices we make between earning a living and our ethical values, but is sympathetic to all characters on either side of the environmental divide.” Pulp into Paper is an engaging, disturbing and sometimes humorous novel exposing a calcified network of corruption between a company (Rand-Atlantic) and the government (EPA) in a small Southern town where "the stink [is] the smell of money." Weiss's talent for detail is extraordinary as she takes us into the homes, sandwich shops and hydrogen-sulfide infested creeks of East Hentsbury with its unforgettable cast of characters." (Campbell). Lenore Weiss is enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts Program at San Francisco State University. Her poetry has been published in many journals Her books include Cutting Down the Last Tree on Easter Island (West End Press, 2012) , Two Places (Kelsay Books, 2014), and Mortal forthcoming in 2016 from Black Cat Moon Press. (Basmati.com).
