As we get closer to the season a lot of people are very excited about this Texas Football Team, because on paper they look like they can be very dynamic. As we may have been reminded yesterday, football games aren't won on paper. The Texas Longhorns football team competed in their first scrimmage of the fall yesterday. The scrimmage was categorized as a win for the defense. One of the main storylines heading into this season is the quarterback battle between Hudson Card and Quinn Ewers and by all accounts from yesterday, both quarterbacks left a lot to be desired. With this being the most important position on the team, this certainly caused some concern amongst Longhorn Nation. Bijan Robinson did Bijan things, but an injury to Roschon Johnson was a big blow to this running back room and this football team as a whole. Injuries to Junior Angilau and Isiah Neyor were big blows to this offense and a reason that they were not hitting on all cylinders yesterday. True freshman Kelvin Banks, and Cole Hutson continued to look really good and mature on the offensive line. On the defensive side, D'shawn Jamison continues to get his hands on the ball at an insane rate. Diamonte Tucker Dorsey looks like a steal in the transfer portal at the linebacker position, and players on the defensive line like J'mond Tapp, Byron Murphy and Ovie Oghoufo made impact plays as well during the scrimmage. This team will continue to get better everyday and hopefully continue to make strides as look to avenge a 5-7 season last year. Hook Em.
