The Yale Center for Creativity and Dyslexia defines dyslexia as, “an unexpected difficulty in learning to read. Dyslexia can hinder an individual’s ability to read quickly and automatically, and to retrieve spoken words easily, but it does NOT dampen creativity and ingenuity."
When a person has dyslexia they are forced to be creative and strong. Athletes are no different; to better support student athletes with dyslexia, we must understand this learning difference.
