Ujimaa is a Swahili word that refers to collective work and responsibility. Located in Chicago, Ujimaa Medics is a community-based organization that provides critical health care training to the community, in support of the people who live there. Part 1 of this conversation dives deep into questions of health justice, access to care, and the need for open-eyed awareness of structural racism's effect on health care.
