Here we find a reference to a young woman that wakes in the night and finds her lover gone. She got up in the night (meaning heaviness in the heart and soul), because her lover was gone. She inquired of the city’s watchmen to no avail. However, she did not stop searching for him until she found him. And when she did, he came displaying his glory. The wisdom here is for us today to seek the Lord, when our hearts get heavy and burdened, until he responds to our cry, with deliverance from whatever that has befallen us.
