Golf is one of the highest-paid sports in the world. And Tiger woods is the king of this game, with an estimated net worth of more than $850 million in 2022. Tiger Woods was born on 30 December 1975 in Cypress, California. His father, Earl Woods was a retired US Army officer and Vietnam War veteran who died on 3 May 2016. Wood’s mother's name is Kultida, and she is of mixed Thai, Chinese, and Dutch ancestry.

Tiger Woods's early amateur career was filled with many successes. When Woods was only 13 years old, he played in the 1989 Big I, which was his first major national junior tournament.

In the final round, Woods was paired with pro-John Daly, who was then relatively unknown. The event's format placed a professional with each group of juniors who had qualified. Daly birdied three of the last four holes to beat Woods by only one stroke.

As a young teenager, Woods first met Jack Nicklaus in Los Angeles at the Bel-Air Country Club, when Nicklaus was performing a clinic for the club's members.

Tiger Woods was part of the show, and he impressed Nicklaus and the crowd with his skills. Nicklaus later said of Tiger, "I was very impressed with his demeanor and his ability. He was polite, he was quiet, and he seemed to know what he was doing."

In 1992, Woods won the US Junior Amateur Championship, which is the world's largest junior golf tournament. The following year, Woods finished second in the US Amateur Championship, which is open to all amateur golfers in the country.

Tiger's performances in these tournaments earned him a spot in the 1994 Masters Tournament, which is one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in the world. At only 20 years old, Tiger Woods became the youngest player ever to compete in the Masters.

Although Tiger Woods didn't win the Masters in 1994, he did achieve one of his lifelong goals: to make the cut. In professional golf, making the cut means finishing the tournament within the top 50 percent of all players.

Tiger Woods would go on to win the Masters in 1997, 2001, 2002, and 2005. Tiger's success at the Master's Tournament has made him one of the most popular athletes in the world.

In 2006, Tiger Woods had an incredible season and won his 10th major championship at the PGA Championship. He went on to win another major in 2007 at the Master's Tournament. However, after that year his professional career took a downturn. In 2009, he was involved in a sex scandal that received a lot of media attention.

In December 2009, after his extramarital affairs became public and attracted a great deal of media attention at the end of the year, Woods announced that he would be taking an indefinite break from competitive golf.

In February 2010, he expressed regret during a television broadcast apology, stating "I was wrong and I was foolish". During this period, he had a huge loss as many brands ended their endorsements deals with Woods.

In April 2010, Woods announced that he was returning to competitive golf, at the Quail Hollow Championship.

2011 was a great year for Tiger Woods as he won three PGA Tour events and reclaimed his number one ranking in the world. That year, Woods also finished second at the British Open and third at the US Open.

However, in 2012, Woods had another scandal as his extramarital affairs became public again. As a result, he was fined by the PGA Tour and lost a number of sponsorships.
