We enter into marriage not only to forge a bond with our spouses but also to embrace the role of being a bonus mom or a son or daughter-in-law. However, expectations and communication with our in-laws or bonus kids can sometimes lead to challenges that affect both our kids and our marriages. To restore and strengthen these connections, it is crucial to initiate open lines of communication and truly get to know one another on a personal level. Although it may be extremely difficult, engaging in difficult conversations paves the way for understanding and growth. Building lasting relationships relies on effective communication and the foundation of respect, which holds the power to bridge gaps and foster harmony in our relationships.

Join the conversation with Markisha Williams and Yolanda Agee as they share more about their experiences as a bonus/step mom and with mothers-in-laws. Yolanda is Monique's bonus mother, she's a wife, a mom, and a grandmother who loves her grandbabies. Markisha is Monique’s step-sister and has been on the podcast before. She is a wife and mother of four and enjoys spending time with her family and reading books. Markisha is a real estate agent and teacher who loves traveling and meeting new people.
